Breakfast with Dr. Seuss
Our 2017 Dr. Seuss Breakfast.....
On March 4th, 222 visitors joined us for our Dr. Seuss Breakfast. Attendance was down a bit from last year, but we contribute that to the frigid temperatures that day. “Dr. Seuss”, The Cats-in-the-Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2 were here. We enjoyed green eggs and ham, bacon, sausage, pancakes and lots more. There were crafts, balloons, face painting and lots of fun! Congratulations to our raffle winners and thanks to all who attended!

Dr. Seuss Breakfast

Our second event of the year is always the Dr. Seuss Breakfast. We host this on the first Saturday of March to celebrate the birthday of Theodore Geisel the creator of all things Suessian! This year again the weather was challenging... but again hardy New Englanders came out even with 24" of snow on the ground!

As it is a meal to celebrate the good Doctor, we have a plethora of Whoville Goodies including a Pink Ink Yink Drink, Beezlenut Splash, Roast Who Beast, Red Fish Blue Fish Jelly Delight, Fruity Cat Hat Stack and of course, nor forgetting Green Eggs and Ham.

We are lucky to have volunteers who, when asked "Will you come to breakfast, wear a top hat, a bow tie, a white lab coat and read for three and a half hours?" ... they say yes!

We decorate with a lot of balloons, cover the tables with paper so budding artists can put their own twist on the event, and have copious amounts of maple syrup!

This year one of our volunteers had the great idea to make "stand behind" things ... where you put your face in a hole and from the front you could be ... Thing 1 or Thing 2! These were very successful with the younger guests and, as everyone carries a smart phone with them now, a hit with their parents too!
