Monadnock Food Coalition

TCK “hosts” The Monadnock Food Coalition (TMFC) under its 501(c)3 umbrella, consisting of area pantries. The Community Kitchen staff and volunteers coordinate the fundraising, mailing, ordering, purchasing, picking up and sorting of food for the Monadnock Food Coalition Holiday boxes. At Thanksgiving and in December, these pantries come to TCK for food purchased with money donated directly to TMFC in order to provide holiday food boxes to people on their lists. In 2007, this amounted to 1,431 boxes totaling 85,680 meals distributed to 2,802 unduplicated people.

Hot Meal Program — Weeknights
Dinner is served weeknights from 5:00—6:30 pm. We do our best to offer well-balanced nutritional meals: main dish (meal, poultry or fish), vegetarian dish, starch, choice of two vegetables, garden and fruit salad, assorted sides, desserts and beverages. Anyone who is in need of a prepared meal or companionship is welcome.

ALL ARE WELCOME!

Hard to believe, but this program has been offered for almost 2 years now. Philip, our Guest Chef prepares a healthy brunch every Sunday along with the help of an excellent group of energetic volunteers. This freshly prepared meal is offered each Sunday from 11:00 – 12:30, with a wide assortment of choices. Menus may include: scrambled eggs, French toast or pancakes, a meat of some type, 3 vegetables, a vegetarian dish, assorted soups, oatmeal, garden salad and fruit salad, yogurt, and the list just goes on... These meals are created in a large part with donated products and the vision of our Guest Chefs. Please give us a call at (603) 352-3200 if you would like more information or to find out how you can participate in this or our evening Hot Meal program.

This is an excellent chance for you to learn more about The Community Kitchen in a more relaxed weekend atmosphere. Families, businesses and organizations are welcome to reserve a specific Sunday to prepare breakfast, then serve and clean-up after the meal. Children ages 14 and over are welcome to volunteer. Please call for more information at (603) 352-3200.

In 2007 we provided supplemental food to an average of 700 families each week through our Pantry Food Box Program and served over 37,143 Hot Meals as well. TCK provided a total of 770,941 meals in 2007. An additional 85,680 were distributed through the Monadnock Food Coalition. That’s a lot of food – And more than 1,276,249 pounds of that was received from generous donations!
